Cadie and Her Monsters

Soon my adorable granddaughter, Cadie, will be turning the BIG 4! Her party next weekend will be at Kiddie Park and the theme is "Monsters"! Very different from her 3 year old party which was Hello Kitty. Today I finished 12 monsters for her tiny guests and their goodie bags. I really had fun sewing these little creatures (even though I'm suppose to be working on my Christmas show in about 4 weeks). But really, what are Grammy's for! I just wanted to share these pictures with you. How blessed we are to have our granddaughter in our lives. All is Bright!

Christmas Pillow

I'm getting ready for my craft show next month with tagging all of the finished products that I've done so far (with lots of work still to be done). When it came to tagging this pillow (which is one of my favorites) I decided to take a picture and post it for all to see. She is such a lovely angel. I love angel pillows. This pattern came from a book I purchased a long, long time ago. How long - whoa, can't remember that far! Anyway, it's a Leisure Arts book called Heartfelt Christmas. I've used so many patterns from this book for my pillows and wallhangings. Glad I bought it!

Well got to get back to work since today is my last day of leave before I go back to work tomorrow.

It's Autumn Time!

What a beautiful time of the year. Pumpkins, acorns, falling leaves, and a change in the weather. It all sounds like autumn to me. With that said, time to add a touch of fall to your decor. How about decorating your dining table, a hutch, coffee table, or your wall?

The whimsical table top above is made with hand-dyed wool. I used a rich orange for the pumpkin, fall colors for the leaves and a golden color for the autumn moon and star. It is all hand-appliqued with DMC floss.

For those who love hand-stitching, below is one of my favorite patterns by I Done My Best. A hand-stitched pumpkin patch. I used osnaburg fabric for the background and plaid fall colors for the borders. This can be hung or set on a table.

Holly and Ivy

I received my swap doll today in the mail and to my pleasant surprise - not only did I get a doll, but I got TWO! I had hinted a little that I really wanted a Christmas doll to decorate for the holidays and here they are - Holly and Ivy. What a pair of cuties! Holly and Ivy are sisters, and as the story goes they traveled all the way from Northern Idaho (just 35 miles from the Canadian border). Their dresses are adorable with printed Scotties and buttons to match. They are holding bags with shiny pennies for good luck, good fortune and good health.

Thank you Ilona! I love my Christmas dolls and I'm sure they will love Texas.
