Still a crafting...

Just got back from the International Quilt Festival in Houston Texas.  It's an annual event that my two sisters and sister-in-law make each year.  Lots of laughter (cause each one is crazy silly), shopping and some wine.  All a great time.  The santa pillow (sorry a little fuzzy) is one of the patterns that I bought.  Actually I bought the kit that included the frame.  But that is going to be for me!  I made the pillow for my craft show.  He is so cute. It has seed beads on his hat, brim and the bottom white border.  Then add a little rusty bell at the cap end.  This is a new pattern by Little Bits by Joan - pattern #337 A Visit From St Nick, in case you are interested.

 

How about some glittery white Christmas star ornaments.

 

Or a falling star right into a rusty bed spring?  This idea came from a picture I saw in Pinterest.

Still working on the holiday show

 Hello friends!  It's been a while since I last blogged, but as you can see I've been busy hustling with crafting for the week long show mid November.  Everything from Santas, snowmen, holiday dolls, ornaments, pillows you name it - I've had my hands in it.

 

The snowman above is the largest snowman I've ever done.  He measures 24 inches and feels like he is almost as wide!  Cyndy from Crafty Stitches made one and I loved it so I asked her where she'd gotten the pattern.  It's from Crooked River Mercantile.  Their snowman was a little more primitive.

 

I love working with wool so I always have plenty of pillows (small, medium and large) with wool appliqued.  I made 5 of the smaller Santa that is shown.  I normally only do about 5 or so of the same kind. I like mixing it around.

 

 I always have plenty of ornaments.  I made a dozen of the angels and a few of the fal la la la la.  I also like mixing up the ornaments - I have a tub full already tagged.  I didn't want to pull them out for photos.

 

 

 

More pillows and some stockings.

 



And last but not least a Merry Christmas wool wall hanging.

My very first doll....

This is my very first attempt in sewing raggedy dolls with painted faces.  Wow - I certainly needed a lot of practice!  She is sooo funny looking, but she brings a smile to my heart each time I see her.  Her color is uneven (my attempt in the tea dying department).  I baked her so long that she has dark streaks on the arms and the back of her head.  As for her hairdo, don't know what I was thinking about!
 

Most of the time she likes hanging out with me in the craft room while I create other dolls.  Of course I always reassure her that she is still the most beautiful one! 

 

Sometimes she will hang out in the kitchen up on the bread box as the first picture shows or she likes sitting outside by my fairy garden pot.  Love her!

 

 

 

This is one of a few dolls I've managed to finish for my Holiday show.  I loved this fabric (which was purchased last year) and couldn't wait to make a dress for a Christmas doll - only took me year!

 



This Raggedy Annie and Andy stocking is from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.

From Witches to Santa

 

Took a little time off from Christmas crafting to make these little witches.  I had a custom order for a Halloween doll and I'm giving her an option from orange or black haired witch.  These little witches aren't a bit scary - just sweet and ready for some trick or treating. 

 This Santa is a little different for me.  I normally do the traditional red outfit and thought I'd change it a bit.  I'd say like a little primitive.  His gown is tea stained osnaburg fabric.
