Bright and Bold for Lucy

Yes, Ms Lucy asked for something very bright and bold.  Here she is - how much brighter and bolder can we get?  She even insisted I make a matching dress for her dolly.  I had fun making her and I couldn't resist the color of her collar - my favorite shade of green.

Hope everyone has a great and safe Memorial weekend.  Please take a moment to remember all of our soldiers who fought on the line for our great Nation.

Kelci

Shoot for the moon - even if you miss it you will land among the stars.  A quote by Les Brown

Having said that how many of us sometimes need a little inspiration whether it's losing weight (this one is for me!) finishing college, advancing in your career goals, or run a marathon.  Whatever it may be, having little reminders around could help us accomplish some of those goals.

The fabric for the dress was originally purchased for the border on a lap quilt I thought I was going to do.  That was about 4 years ago!  Has that ever happened to you?   I love this fabric by Sandy Gervais for Moda.  I still have a lot left of this fabric, maybe I can still get to that lap quilt.

The inspiration for making this blond, green-eyed doll came from this fabric once I found it in my stash.  I enjoyed making Kelci and her inspiration pillow.  I hope you like her too.

Happy Mother's Day from 4 Generations

Happy Mother's Day!  Here we have four generations - Mom, daughter Andrea, precious granddaughter Cadie and me in the back.  It truly is a blessing to be able to share this day with my Mom, who by the way, will be turning 89 this coming Tues.

I read a blog this morning that said for those of us who still have our Moms, don't forget to hug them and thank them.  Moms are so special and that I will never forget.

Have a great day and many blessings to all those wonderful Moms out there.

Lilly and Logan

How about a brother and sister act - introducing Logan and Lilly.  I've had these two almost done for the last couple of weeks and finally finished their hairdo, hat and bow today.  I wasn't sure what to name them and had to call my daughter to get some ideas.  She came up with several names which I can keep for next time I make up another pair of brothers and sisters.  The pattern is from Sweet Meadow Farms.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Starting tomorrow I'll have four weeks left before I retire!  Getting a little excited about that.  Can you tell?  What a change I'll be going through.  It will certainly be different, but I'm sure I'll get use to it.  Besides, I've been told that once you retire you normally are busier than when you worked.  All I know is that I'll be busy getting ready for my Fall craft show and that will be fun busy!

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by.

blessings,
