Pink Delight!

Pink delight! Awww - how delightful is this little cutie. Just finished her for a very special little girl who just happens to be my adorable granddaughter, Cadie. Cadie loves pink and she knows that Grammy loves green. So with her pink hair and green button we are set to go! This doll will be one of the items that I put together for her Easter basket.

To all my blogger friends and those that stop by may you have a very Blessed Easter. Stay safe and have a very nice Easter weekend!

Stop and Smell the Flowers

It's spring time and just the other day I noticed how busy I've been. For me it's not only working outside the home full time, but working on some special orders for dolls. I have three that I haven't started yet. And as I was driving home the other day, I noticed some flowers blooming in the neighborhood and told myself "stop and smell the flowers." And that's how I came to designing this cutie. Jilly's message - "Smell the Flowers" and enjoy this wonderful time when all that was once dead to the winter is now blooming all around us.

Blessings to all,

Orange Sherbert Push Pops

Sewing this dress brought back some childhood memories for me. Do some of you remember the orange sherbert ice cream push pops? As a little girl, I remember waiting during the summer months for the sound of the ice cream truck playing music and with money in hand ready to purchase my favorite ice cream. For those that may not know what a push pop is, they are just like an orange creamsicle or orange dream bar. The color of this dress reminded me of that. I love the print on this fabric; tangy orange with small white flowers.

Now that I’ve told you one of my many favorite past times during the summer months what should I name her? Humm, how about Tangy? I once knew a girl by the name of Tangy. Well, Tangy it is and she will be ready for my Etsy shop soon.

Awww, memories of those childhood good old summer days. Seems like I'm feeling a little nostalgic remembering those summer breezes, catching light bugs in a jar and orange push pops – those were the days - until next time my friends, All is Bright, especially if I can get my hands on some of those push pops!

Because I Love You...

To all my blogger friends, I have a new doll. Tilly is her name and she comes with a message just for you -- because I love you.

Just four simple words on a heart and a face with such innocence would certainly melt my heart. Tilly is ready to fill your home with plenty of love. This little cutie was so much fun to create. She is a My Raggedy Doll pattern, but I added the heart. I love adding little messages to my dolls. The pinafore I used for Tilly is one of the pieces of lace and hankies that I purchased from my trip to Round Top. I loved how that turned out. The heart pattern is mine and I used dyed onsnaburg fabric and vintage buttons that were also finds at the antique shopping tour. So if you are interested in Tilly she is now in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for taking a peek at my new doll and have a very nice evening!

Hugs to all,

Custom Order and Round Top

Hi! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I did. Hubby and I went to Round Top Texas on Sat. What is Round Top TX? Just the greatest Antique show in Texas! It is fabulous! The antique show starts from Round Top all the way to Warrenton, which means 10 miles of vendors all line up in open fields. Like one big garage sale. I think I read somewhere that it has about 2,000 vendors. Of course it's impossible to see everything in one day, but we spent 8 hours trying! Some of you might have heard of it - this event happens twice a year in the Spring and Fall. Very interesting and fun. Bought a few things like lace, hankies, rusty keys (all for my dolls) and a very nice stool for my kitchen island. We had a great time, but we were exhausted last night.

But I did have just enough energy today to finished the doll above. Her name is Maria Clara and is a special order for a little girl in Portugal. I hope she loves her.

I'm working on another doll and will have her listed in Etsy soon - hopefully by Wed. Since I was out all day yesterday I have to finish my wash - not fun :0(

Take care!
