Free pattern - christmas ornament

Christmas in July! Yes folks, my craft room looks like Christmas. After a couple of months working on special orders for dolls (and I still have two that need to be done by Aug) I am finally working on my craft show items for Nov. I've done some angels, Santas, several stitched pillows and ornaments. And speaking of ornaments, the free pattern that I'd like to share is so very easy to make. If you're having a craft show, these sell like hot cakes! Or just whip up some for your tree or for friends. Send me your email and I will gladly email you the pattern. My email is allisbrightcrafts@yahoo.com.

The Santa on the wood bobbin is a pattern by The Olde Country Cupboard. I love Sandy's patterns. It is easy and fun to make. I'll probably have about 4 of those at my show.

Well, besides work at the office and then in my craft room - a girl can only stay so busy. Take care and happy sewing. Remember - if you want my pattern email me!

Cadie's Monsters - Louie and Pink Lady

Hello! Iam introducing my new venture! I'm really excited about my softies. I picked up a magazine a while back called, "Stuffed", and it had all sorts of adorable stuffed softies; animals, dolls and my favorite -- monsters!

You're probably wondering where I came up with the name "Cadie's Monsters". That's easy - I've named my new line after my granddaugher, Cadie. Cadie is an adorable 3 1/2 year old who already has a very big imagination! She loves monsters (the nice ones, of course!) and her daddy even affectionately calls her "Monster". In fact, for her 4th birthday she has requested a Monster Party! Sounds like Grammy might just have to whip up a few of my new softies for her party guests.

I started creating my monster softies without using a pattern - just my imagination (I hope that's a good thing?!) Since I won't have a pattern, they will definitely be OOAK.

I'd like to introduce my first set of monsters - Louie and Pink Lady.

Louie is looking for love and showing us his big heart. Here's hoping he finally finds love at the right places.

Pink Lady is all "glammed" up for a party. She wants to look pretty and not scary in hopes of at least one dance at the party.

Pictured below is Cadie with her Henry. Stay tuned for some more of Cadie's Monsters!

Lisa's Doll

The doll I'm posting here today was especially made for a beautiful, warm hearted, and caring friend of mine. Lisa was just diagnosed with breast cancer a month ago and is now going for treatments. Lisa had wanted to purchase one of my dolls, so I made sure to get one done for her before she try and buy one from my Etsy store.

At first I thought I'd make her a doll with the pink dress and pink ribbon used for the Fight Against Breast Cancer. But then I thought, maybe she'd want something to not always remind her of the fight ahead of her. Something bright, cheerful, sunny - a yellow dress. Hopefully, when she looks at her doll, the sunshine will beam upon her and bring a smile to her face and encouragement to beat this cancer.

All the love I put into making this doll so special for her was paid off by Lisa telling me "when I saw her - it brought a smile to my face." Our prayers and thoughts are always with you Lisa.
