Crafting for the Show

I was able to work on a few items this weekend for the show.  I did a couple more pillows of the snowbaby with her bunny.  Faith, Hope & Love is a pillow I drew and stitched. I might do more of these, not sure yet.

Whipped up some ornaments from my pattern.  Stitched ornaments are really a big seller for me.  I normally have at least a dozen or so of different patterns and then try to make at least 5-10 of each different design.
Can't forget my wool!  Once I finish appliquing these I will sew them into pillows and add a hanger.  They are nice for hanging on a tree, cabinet knob or just in a pretty basket.  There are many ways one can decorate with these wool pillows.  I will be making more of these with Santas, snowmen and angels.  Love working with wool!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Until next time - have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Love Stitchery

With Christmas love in our hearts
I have a new stitchery design listed in Etsy.  Since many of us are getting ready for the fall/winter shows – I thought this would be a good time to list my new epattern.  The pillow has a wool appliquéd heart.  The best part is it’s fast and easy to do.  I’ve already done a few ornaments for the show.  In addition, we must not forget that these make nice gifts for family and friends.  I just loved how it turned out

I’ve also finished another Christmas pillow design and as soon as I have the pattern written I’ll post that one.  Hope you like my new design and thanks for stopping by!

DREAM

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow

poem by Langston Hughes

Cherished hopes, ambitions, aspirations – a dream can be a wonderful inspiration, which I hope this little doll with her pillow will inspire someone.

And with that, I like to introduce you to Mia.  She is dreaming of finding a wonderful home filled with love.  Mia is now in my Etsy shop.

I hope everyone is having a great week.  It is so hot down here in Texas and it seems like it's the same in many other places.  It's kinda hard to get motivated sewing Santas and snowmen with this heat.  All I can say is…thank goodness for air conditioners!  And with that I guess I had better get back to my fall/winter crafts.  Have a wonderful weekend and stay cool!  Until later – hope you enjoyed viewing Mia and....
may all your dreams come true!

Finally! Working on Christmas Crafting

Yes folks, I've put down doll making for a few days to get started on my holiday show which comes in about 4 months!  Can you believe how summer is just flying by.  I've already seen school supplies on the shelves and of course the craft stores have all of the fall items out.

I had fun making this Santa which is suppose to be an ornament, so the pattern says.  He stands 11".  Pattern is by Sandy from The Olde Country Cupboard.  I managed to get three done and will probably make at least two or three more.  For my shows I generally only make about four or five of the same.  Cute pattern and easy to make.
This pillow was also easy and Christmas pillows sell well at this show.  Oh, I also deigned a new pattern for a cute Christmas pillow...it's done, but I still have to write out the pattern.  Hopefully I'll have it ready for Etsy as an e-pattern soon.

I love this wall hanging.  I've had this pattern for a while and normally make about two of these.

OK - confession time - in the beginning of my post I wrote that I had to put down my dolls to get my holiday crafting started.  I did do my crafting, but I couldn't resist getting started on a new doll late this afternoon.  Hopefully she will be ready for Etsy mid-week.  Hint:  She is black and white and will come with a small pillow with a message.   Coming soon so check back.  Until then have a wonderful week and remember...All is Bright!
Hugs,

I'm Back and Time to Work!

Hi Friends!
I'm back from vacation and I guess it's time to get back to work; real job at the base and the fun job crafting for the Christmas show in the fall. Hubby and I had a great time visiting my brother and his family in Orange California. My daughter, son-in-law and my Cadie also made the trip. My son Andrew was not able to go due to work and summer classes he is taking, bummer! The weather in California is fantastic!

The guys went deep sea fishing and we took a train to do some shopping in a town called San Juan Capistrano and ate lunch there. My brother got us all tickets to the Angels baseball game. As you can see below Cadie is wearing a Angels shirt that her Aunt bought her and wearing Mommy's sunglasses. The day of the game happened to be my daughter and son-in-law's 11th wedding anniversary and my brother surprised them with having the giant billboard before the 4th inning pop up with "Happy Anniversary, Andrea and Tom Pence." That was so sweet - took pictures of that. That's them in the picture below.

OK enough of my vacation. The stitchery pillow above was easy and fun to do. I like easy and fun! Pattern is by Plum Creek Collectibles. The day before we left I stitched the outline in black floss. Today I filled in the color with crayons (my granddaughter's pail of crayons in the background). After you color it you lay paper towel on top of the colored design and press with a hot iron a few seconds to melt the color. Really simple and fun - I'll probably do a few more with other colors for her dress.

Just a few days left before my drawing for the doll. So get your name in. For all of those who have left a comment - thank you! Good luck....until next time check my blog for the announcement of the winner!

Blessings,

Time For A Give Away!

I SERIOUSLY need to stop sewing dolls and start working on my Christmas crafts, but before I do that I want to give away a raggedy doll. This little Annie (only 9 inches tall) is a pattern from Sweet Meadows Farms. She is so sweet I almost don't want to give her away! I started her last night and just finished her today.

Here is how you can enter my give away:
1. You must be a follower or become a follower of my blog (and you don't need to have a blog to enter).
2. Leave me a comment (something like "I want to be entered").
3. And if you post my give away on your blog, you'll get your name entered twice.

Hubby and I are going to California for vacation next week, so I'll be gone for a while. I'll probably have my granddaughter Cadie pull out the winner when I return - so please enter by midnight 15 Jul and I'll post the winner on 16 Jul.

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful 4th of July. Have fun, but stay safe!

Hugs,
