Soooo Tickled Pink!

New little girl - Chelsea.  What a pink delight!  Pink, lace and bows - couldn't ask for a much more girlie girl.  She is now listed in my Etsy shop.

I have to make this short - another long day at work tomorrow - just 2 months left (haven't started counting the days yet), but whose counting?  Lol
Have a great week friends,

XOXO,

Shopping at My Favorite Quilt Shop

Saturday morning was finally the day to go shopping at one of my favorite quilt shops.  Located downtown San Antonio in a charming cottage built from a Sears kit - circa 1910.  The co-owner, Fran, has been a family friend for over 40 years and she has the best wools you can find in the local area.  So if you are ever in San Antonio Texas you must stop by and check out her shop - Las Colchas.  Many beautiful fabrics, wool (can't stop talking about her wool), kits and they have classes.

Look what I did for myself.  A wool pin cushion.  I had bought this pattern last year from Primitive Gatherings and Fran has these kits for the pin cushions for just $5.00 each.  The pattern has four you can do - a sheep, gathering basket, saltbox house and crow & star.  I finished this little project under an hour!  Love it.

I started working on a Annie and Andy doll and hope to have them finished this week.  Also spent some time with Mom and Dad this afternoon.  She was in good spirits - which always brings a smile to my heart.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all the great news - I am finally ready to retire from my government job.  Yea - after 36 years it's time to  say good by to some of the best people I've work with, including those wonderful service men and women.  My last day will be Jun 1st.  Kinda sad to leave them, but excited for my next journey - helping dad with mom, sewing during the day and not at night or weekends and hopefully some traveling - and the best part - not having to get up at 5 a.m.!  Oh, and since hubby is not retiring for another 2-3 years - gotta take care of him too! lol

Have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Callie and Her Bunny Fufu

Here she is - Callie.  I fell in love with this fabric and couldn't wait to make her dress.  Callie comes with her bunny which I've named Bunny Fufu.

I suppose she would look great in a huge Easter basket - and after Easter her colors will work great with your Spring and Summer decor.

Callie and her bunny are now listed in my Etsy shop.

Thank you for stopping by - may you all have a blessed week!

The Wedding and a Custom Doll

Thank you all for the many thoughts and prayers for my Mom.  Mom is doing as well as can be expected after going through a stroke and seizure in one month.  All we can do for her now is provide her with as much love and comfort as possible.

The wedding was beautiful.  Here is a picture of my niece with her new husband.

Unfortunately I was not able to photograph the two flower girls together, but did get a chance to photograph my granddaughter, Cadie.  Oh, they loved their little flower girl dolls!

The wedding was about a 4-hour drive down south Texas, so I took the opportunity to take along a project to work on.  This will be for me!  I haven't done anything for my home in a very long time and I've already picked the wall space where I'll hang this wool wall hanging.  This is a sneak peek of me working on it while hubby drove.  These wool projects are great to take along for a long road trip.  I hope to post the finish result soon.

Here is a custom doll for a customer's little granddaughter.  She requested her favorite colors - pink and purple.

I'm presently working on a doll with a bunny for Etsy.  I'll post her soon - until then - take care!

Flower Girls

Hi friends - I finally finished the dolls for the flower girls - and just in time since the wedding is this Saturday.  Who is getting married?  My sister's beautiful daughter.  Her colors are lavender and purple.  One of the flower girls is my granddaughter which means this will be another doll added to her collection!

I loved making these dolls, but have to admit it was a little stressful getting them finished.  My Mom who is 88 years old was in the hospital last week.  She has had several minor strokes and it has advanced her dementia.  My older sister, brother and I have been helping Dad with the situation.  Our goal is to keep Mom as comfortable as possible.  We've been very blessed to have both our parents with us for so many years.  They will be married 67 years this June.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I'll be at the wedding wishing the Bride and Groom many happy years together - as many as her grandparents.

Blessings,
