I'm staying busy! Busy is good, right? I'm working on some custom orders. Here is the first part of creating my dolls. By the way, the pattern I'm using is by Julie from My Raggedy Dolls. Love this pattern. Here is the body ready to be stuffed. I have to admit that stuffing is my least favorite thing to do.
Tada! After the stuffing comes the fun part -- painting the faces. Here is where their personalities come to form. Oops, forgot to put on their pantaloons before snapping a picture.
Next I'll go through my stash of fabrics and pick out colors that they specifically ask for and start the dress making. That's fun too. Their hair is the last thing I do. If the customer ask for short hair or pigtails I'll go with that. If I'm doing one for my Etsy shop, I will fix her hair according to the dress I make. Guess I'll get busy and get these dolls all dressed up. Until then, happy sewing to you!
Hugs,
I love the faces you paint! I like to sew but faces intimidate me! I'll just admire yours! ♥

ReplyDeleteSasha,
ReplyDeleteHi! Yes, the shoes and socks are painted. After I paint the eyes and shoes I spray them with a clear acrylic gloss coating for lasting color. Thanks for your compliments.
HI PAT. THANK YOU FOR VISITING ME. I LOVE YOUR DOLLS AND THEY LOOK SO CUTE IN PROGRESS.
ReplyDeleteYOU KNOW, I HAVE ALL THE PICTURES OF THE MAKING OF LOLLYPOP ANNIE, MY LAST DOLL. SITTING ON THE SEWING MACHINE, BUT WITH A PANTALOON. HAHAHA
